Standards Australia, Australia’s peak standards body, is developing a work plan to support the Future of Distributed Electricity.
To facilitate stakeholder feedback on this work Standards Australia released a discussion paper on 12 July. See Stop Smart Meters Australia’s response here.
To-date, scant attention within this process has centred on the concerns of consumers. However, we, the consumers, are a major stakeholder! SSMA has recommended that all standards pertaining to technology capable of emitting EMF must also address the potential for harm to humans, animals and plants.
Standards Australia is now hosting an open forum, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in Sydney on Tuesday, 30 August to discuss outcomes of the discussion paper and confirm the next steps. The forum is complimentary and places are limited.
All stakeholder groups are welcome to participate. Participants will have the opportunity to join the discussion after the presentations. Go here for details and to register Forum: Future of Distributed Electricity.
If you reside in or near Sydney, please attend this forum and have your say!!
