Smart Meter Information Session Tomorrow at 1pm!

Talk about short notice. It is almost like the government doesn’t really want anyone to attend!!!

The Department of Primary Industries would like to invite you to attend an Information Session.

Dear Stakeholder,

This morning the Minister for Energy and Resources, Michael O’Brien, announced that as a result of an extensive review and community consultation, the Victorian Government has decided to continue the Smart Meter rollout. The program will be improved and there are a number of significant changes.

Smart Meters will continue being installed to all homes and small businesses by the end of 2013.

The key program improvements focus on:

  • Cost
  • Consumer benefits
  • Governance
  • Safety
  • Privacy
  • Pricing

The Department of Primary Industries would like to invite you to attend an Information Session so that we can discuss these program improvements with you.

Thursday 15 December for afternoon tea at 1pm.

The briefing will take approximately one hour and will include important information on the future of the program.
