For the past two years, Stop Smart Meters Australia (SSMA) has received countless emails from people suffering from the effects of the constant pulses of radiation emitted by smart meters.
The standard response these sufferers receive from “authorities”, if any, is that the radiation emitted from smart meters falls within Australian radio frequency standards, and so the authorities believe it absolves them from all responsibility to investigate, and prefers to leave people suffering without any form of support.
SSMA doesn’t dispute that Australian radiation standards are being met within the roll-out of smart meters, however, we strongly maintain that authorities have a duty of care to, at the very least, consider the effects smart meters are having on the proportion of the population who are adversely affected by radiofrequency microwaves. This becomes even more essential when one considers ICNIRP, the organisation that established international guidelines upon which our standards are based, and which claims that guidelines may not provide adequate protection for certain sensitive individuals nor for normal individuals exposed concomitantly to other agents, which may exacerbate the effect of the non ionizing radiation exposure.
The Victorian government and power distributors refuse to make provision for people who are clearly affected, and even medically proven, to be affected by radiofrequency microwaves. The cries and tears of these people are heartlessly ignored.
To our knowledge the CEOs of Victorian power distributors, Mr Timothy Rourke (Powercor and CitiPower), Mr Nino Ficca (SP AusNet), Mr Paul Adams (Jemena) and Mr Hugh Gleeson (United Energy) have not once agreed to meet with people who are suffering as a direct result of the forced installation of their equipment in people’s private residences. Nor has Mr Mark Feather, Executive Director, Energy Sector Development Branch, Department of State Development and Business Innovation, nor have respective Victorian Energy Ministers Michael O’Brien, Nicholas Kotsiras or Russell Northe met face to face, eye to eye with affected people and explained why they should suffer, allegedly for the ‘common good’. Rather it seems to be the financial wellbeing of power distributors that is the overriding concern.
These men have been clearly advised on numerous occasions of the effects the smart meter roll-out in Victoria is having on many people, yet they totally REFUSE to do ANYTHING about it. One wonders how such men can look at themselves in the mirror….
See, below, just one more example of the pain and suffering Victoria’s mandated smart meter roll-out is afflicting on hapless Victorians. This email was received in the past week from a mother of a wheelchair-bound person:
“My daughter who is chronically ill had two smart meters installed last Wednesday 16th April. She suffers from a severe muscular disorder, and also is extremely susceptible to electro magnetic radiation.
By Thursday all of her symptoms were exacerbated, the pain in her head and jaw became unbearable and she could not sleep. I spent the entire Easter weekend trying to get help from United Energy. The first question I was asked was “who told you about this?”
I had no idea that these devices had anything to do with wifi emissions or I would not have had it installed. Since the installation she has had horrendous migraines, has not slept at all, and has had seizures. We had no idea that the smart meter could make her condition worse and we are positive that this is not a coincidence.
After numerous calls yesterday (and being on hold for 2 and a half hours) someone finally rang me from customer relations at 4.50. He said that there was no proof that the smart meter could have anything to do with my daughter’s health problems, but finally agreed to see if the levels could be lowered remotely (which I had read is possible) They have agreed to do this.
My daughter has moved from her bedroom and is on the floor in her lounge. We attempted to turn off her power, removing all of her medication which needed to be kept frozen. This didn’t work as the meter has a backup battery which just keeps going.
Today I have been informed that I can get an electrician to remove one of the meters at my own cost (this is for floor heating which is disconnected so doesn’t need to be there).
I am getting a quote from a local guy, who is doing two similar jobs. He said it may cost thousands.
I feel that this is going to be a nightmare to eventually get the smart meter removed, but given my daughter’s deteriorating condition I need to do whatever it takes to get rid of this device.”

Geri’s husband has tried to shield the radiation from entering his daughter’s room by placing led behind the smart meter. Their daughter wrote (edited version):

If this lead doesn’t work surely we must, this is ridiculous. Could we speak to a lawyer maybe?
I got moved back to my bedroom last night as I really wanted to test it after being in the back of the house for many days. Within a few hours I woke up with excruciating back pain – this pain is diff to my usual – middle back, and like the worst kind of kidney type pain – but it’s not kidneys, none of my stuff that helps usual muscle stuff relieves it. The pain is constant and very severe. This first started the day after the smart meter was installed and went away after a few days when I was down at the back of the house. I have completely dried out, throat – right to stomach, sinus, eyes everything. My skin rash came back and my heart went crazy. The most worrying thing is my lungs have totally dried out. I keep choking due to this and coughing nonstop. None of this is stuff I had before the smart meter was installed and it’s far far worse in there now than it was last week even. It’s the first time my lungs have gone. I am utterly exhausted. Without sleep you can imagine how much I am worsening. I’d be very scared to be left in my bedroom now for any extended time, seeing the difference now.
We must have some rights, potentially it could kill me if left in there. Noexaggeration. I shouldn’t have to lose my house over this. It took so much effort to get it all altered and set up for me and has access to all I need, especially the bedroom and bathroom. I don’t want to have to move into a tiny bedroom, nothing will fit, not even my wheelchair and cannot even sleep/lay on that bed as it worsens my back. I really can’t believe this is happening.
Took all I had left to write this. I am shaking severely and my limbs are seizing up bad now. Zero energy. I just hope someone can do something and soon.
I will have no energy to handle any of this. If I was less sick it would be easier for us to fight this. This is just crazy.”

I would love to have my dumb meter turned down from maximum (as it was installed) to minimimum (at which rate it works adequately) if only I could find someone to do it. But then I would have to ask my neighbour to turn hers down too, since it is only 2 metres from my bed (and I have already treated my home for EMR). I am soooo much worse since these smart meters started communicating to each other – the lining of the nerves in my brain has been dissolved by it and I am so dizzy I can scarcely function.
Bottom line? Hydro doesn’t care about our health. They have an agenda, a timeline and that is all that matters to them. We have gone from having a congenial relationship with that monopoly to an adversarial one. Through no fault of ours we are now treated with disdain.

The true purpose of the five Distribution companies attempting to introduce extra charges is to discourage people from keeping their proven to be safe analog meter, and not to compensate for manually reading an analog meter as claimed. (Customers could easily do this themselves and submit the monthly reading to the utility) Any demand of extra payment to avoid having privacy, security or health infringed upon within one’s own home is, without exaggeration, EXTORTION, particularly in light of the fact that microwave radiation, including that emitted by smart meters, is classified by the WHO as a possible human carcinogen.

Exposure to EMF such as that from smart meters and other sources, rapidly causes painful physical symptoms and disability in a significant percentage of the population, whether or not these people can directly “sense” EMF and whether or not they are aware that they are being exposed.
This is in spite of JUNK SCIENCE sponsored by industry – poorly conducted experiments – that have supposedly “proven” that the symptoms are not caused by EMF exposure.
MORE THAN ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICE, smart meters have been the cause of persons world-wide being converted from normal, to becoming electrically sensitive, to the point of not being able to use their beloved cell phones or wi-fi any longer.
Smart meters really are disabling people, and the number so disabled is growing rapidly. Many of these health effects are irreversible.
These are just some of the main reasons for why there are over 200 smart meter opposition groups world-wide.
Many people worldwide independently report becoming electrically sensitive for the first time in their lives after a smart meter was installed, and can no longer tolerate using cell phones or Wi-Fi. It is important to note that in many of these cases, brand new and severe symptoms began to appear days or weeks BEFORE they learned that a smart meter was nearby. Therefore effects on human functioning are a reality and not paranoia or hysteria. Because of the severity of these symptoms, in many cases people are forced to abandon their homes if utilities refuse, as they are, to remove the smart meter.

Not sure if someone has already alluded to this but between the Federal & the State legislations covering discrimination, you should be able to get somewhere IF you can engage a solicitor to write a letter for you. Unfortunately, the electricity companies tend to fob you off if you do not use a lawyer.

No one knows exactly what the safety limit for EMF and RF radiation should be for every person as everyone is different. The general hypothesis for EMF is approximately 2 milligauss or less. As for RF I hypothesise the safety limit should be no more than 0.1 of 1 mW/m2 which is equivalent to 1 tenth of 1 milliwatt per square meter, This would be approximately 0.2 of 1 V/m which is equivalent to 1 fifth of 1 volt per meter if measuring in V/m. The photo above of the RF meter displays a reading of 0.1 of 1 mW/m2. Ideally living in no radiation would be the best. Some people who are EHS (electromagnetic hypersensitive) may need lower safety limits than the above mentioned or they might get side effects so there can never be a blanket safety limit for all people, just a guideline, a limit that should not be exceeded for long periods whatever that long period is for you? or it could be dangerous to your health.
Perhaps the most dangerous, damaging form of pollution facing people every day is invisible, soundless, and cannot be touched or felt. It is electromagnetic field radiation (EMF) and it is emanating from virtually every single electrical appliance, electric wire, and especially high voltage lines (overhead and underground), which are carrying current. EMF is specifically causing cancer in children and in older adults and may be triggering countless other immune deficiency and psychological diseases and disorders in anyone in close proximity. Make no mistake about it: electric fields are bad news for your health and can be killers.
The government of Sweden funded an official, massive study of the effects of electric fields from overhead power lines on 500,000 people over a period of 25 years and found overwhelming evidence that electric fields generated cancer in children at 4 times the normal rate and tripled the rate in adults. Sweden lists electromagnetic fields (EMF) as Class 2 Carcinogens, right along with tobacco.
As far back as 1979, University of Colorado epidemiologist Nancy Wertheimer, Ph.D., firmly established a connection between low-voltage power lines in residential neighbourhoods and instances of childhood leukaemia. Her study showed that children living near these ordinary backyard variety power lines had three times the likelihood of developing childhood cancer. Larger gauge, high voltage transmission lines that you see in grasslands pose a much greater danger than typical backyard lines and the EMF’s from them are generally higher near the pylon (large metal structure) that holds up the wires than in between the structures. Since then, many other studies have confirmed her findings and substantiated the link between 50-60hz AC electromagnetic radiation and increased risk of leukaemia, lymphomas, and cancer of the brain and nervous system. Many scientists warn people not to live too close to large high voltage transmission lines. Of 35 international research studies on electric field radiation, 33 established a conclusive link between brain tumours, leukaemia, and other forms of cancer.
Scientists in Russia have done more studies on EMF than any other country and for decades have been reporting that electric fields cause high blood pressure, chronic stress effects, immune system dysfunction, changes in white and red blood cell counts, increased metabolism, chronic fatigue disorders, and headaches.
In 1990, The American Journal of Epidemiology published a study on the use of electric blankets which demonstrated “a quadrupling in the risk of brain tumours among children whose mothers slept under electric blankets during the first trimester of pregnancy.”
Other studies report a clear linkage between EMF exposure and illnesses such as immune disorders, brain wave modification, and many other serious physical and psychological abnormalities and deficiencies.
50-60hz Alternating Current (AC)
Global electricity is primarily derived from 50-60hz AC which create an EMF that penetrates every cell in the body. The primary health risks caused by EMF’s result from the conversion of AC electricity into a DC pattern of energy. The actual conversion of AC electricity into DC is primarily accomplished by the use of transformers and electric motors.
Overhead power lines and ’step-down’ transformers present the biggest dangers to the average citizen. Step-down transformers look like large metal canisters and are found hanging on many utility poles and are commonly seen throughout residential neighbourhoods. Electric motors are found everywhere from vacuum cleaners to hair dryers to refrigerators.
In the U.S., the EPA states that an electromagnetic field of only one milligauss is the maximum safe level of exposure. However, some Russian researchers assert that an electric field of only 1/1000th milligauss should be the maximum permissible exposure.
By these standards, many of us are in big trouble. We can be exposed to EMF’s countless times a day from electric shavers (14-1600 milligauss), hair dryers (3-1400 milligauss), electric blankets (extremely dangerous), CRT TV’s, stereos, radios, copiers, toasters, ovens, electric heaters, all electric appliances, microwaves, lamps, fluorescent lighting, home and office wiring, electric toothbrushes, and waterbed heaters (all of which use AC to DC conversion for their operation). Many of these electronic devices are used intermittently and that is why regular consistent exposure to overhead high voltage power lines is considered the most dangerous of all.
There is also major EMR being emitted from military installations, industrial machines, TV and radio transmitters, microwave transmission systems, aeroplane cabins, cellular phones, substations, and dozens of other sources. In fact, we live in a virtual fish bowl of radiation; a chaos of random photon bombardment which if exposed can affect every living cell of the human body.
The Vulnerable Human Body
Human beings are, in reality, bio-electric beings that operate, with their own set of respective frequencies. Normal household current is 50-60hz and is completely incompatible and disruptive to the body’s natural electric frequency range, neural transmission system, and its sensitive neurochemical equilibrium. 50-60hz electromagnetic radiation can penetrate the entire body and brain.
Each cell in the body contains positive and negatively charged elements that are kept in a delicate balance on the inside and outside of the cell wall. Electromagnetic, ELF, and microwave radiation disorders and disrupts this critical balance and plays havoc with the millions of electrical impulses that the body uses to regulate all cellular activity. The random and unorganized photons radiating from these fields also act as electromagnetic ‘free radicals’ which are often stored in cells as significant electrostatic charges which can cause major dysfunction at the cellular, molecular, and atomic levels.
Have you ever been in a car and driven under a high voltage power line and had your radio sound drowned out by static electricity? The human body takes the very same kind of punishment in the car, home, and office from the numerous sources of electric radiation which abound everywhere. And speaking of cars & trucks: many of them produce EMF in the area of the front passenger and drivers seat which can be two to three times stronger than EMF from some home appliances.
The reports of death and disease caused by electric field exposure are prolific; 11 of 65 workers on the first floor of a telephone company developed cancer from the electric field generated by a mass of electrical equipment housed in a room adjacent their office; a San Francisco elementary school had 22 cases of cancer among the staff who worked in the front of the building near the overhead high voltage lines and four pole-mounted transformers outside; and clinical research showed human cancer cells in a lab experiment exposed to 50-60hz (household variety) electric fields proliferated and within one week were cloning six times as fast as normal.
Furthermore, UCLA studies showed that electric field radiation on animals caused changes in the firing rate of brain cells, changes in their EEG’s and lowered behaviour scores on repeat testing; permanent changes in learning ability have been documented. Short term memory impairment has been reported on subjects exposed to common 50-60hz fields and an American study showed a 300% increase in brain tumours in children whose mothers used electric blankets during pregnancy. Even many police departments have banned the use of hand-held radar guns because of the proven link between long term EMF exposure from these devices and cancer among police officers who use them.
The Bedroom Is Often the Most Dangerous Place In the Home
A good night’s sleep. For many, it has been years since they have been able to use that expression. Tired of laying awake nights? Tired of waking up ‘half-dead’ in the morning? Tired of taking sleeping pills and tranquillizers to sleep? If so, you are not alone. There are literally millions of chronic insomniacs and millions more who sleep poorly.
After a rough night of tossing and turning, the gritting and grinding of teeth, having nightmares, sweating, suffering through muscle cramps and spasms, millions of these people will get up and drag themselves through the day in near exhaustion, working at levels far below normal efficiency. Lost productivity in the U.S. from poor sleep runs into the billions. And how many accidents on the road are caused by fatigue and poor sleep?
Many researchers and scientists now feel that electromagnetic field radiation, both from within and without the bedroom, is the single biggest factor in poor sleep. And poor health. Look around your bedroom. Is there a clock radio on the nightstand near your pillow or in your bedhead? A waterbed heater? A stereo? A bed side lamp? Do you see an electric blanket? Are there high voltage power lines close to your residence? Do you sleep near the outside meter box? All or any of these electric sources can ruin your sleep and can substantially increase your risk of developing cancer and any number of diseases, both psychological and physical.
While you sleep, your body relaxes and is unconscious. In this state of vulnerability, research indicates that you are more open to the damage of electromagnetic radiation when asleep, than when you are awake. Children are much more sensitive to these fields than adults.
The worst of all electrical bedroom appliances are clock radios, electric alarm clocks, electric blankets, and waterbed heaters. Scientists have established that a simple clock radio or electric alarm clock on the nightstand near your head can radiate an electromagnetic field into your brain and body that can cause very serious health problems. Some beds have a clock radio built into their bedhead.
Electric blankets radiate fields much higher than normal acceptable levels. If you insist on using an electric blanket, warm your bed and then unplug it before you retire for the night. Do not leave it plugged in while you sleep, even if it is turned off. Outside high voltage power lines continually radiate EMF 24 hours a day. Be careful not to sit too close to CRT (cathode ray tube) televisions & monitors as they produce much stronger EMF than LCD’s. LCD TVs & monitors don’t generate much EMF.
A Siege of Electromagnetic Radiation
Ever since Thomas Edison energized the first electric power plant in 1882, humanity has made ever increasing use of electricity. The result is that we now live in a sea of dangerous and deadly electromagnetic radiation that most people cannot sense and has never before existed on the earth. This massive onslaught of new radiation is causing stress, disease, and other harmful and destructive effects the world over by interfering with the most basic levels of the body¹s cells and especially the human brain. Exposure to electromagnetic fields can also cause Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) and some people are naturally EHS, thus validating that the safety limits for EMF in certain countries are set too high.
Specifically, the human brain (and the brains of all living things) have been regulated since the dawn of time by the earth’s naturally-occurring narrow band of extreme low frequency radiation, commonly known as ELF. Within the extreme low frequency of the Earth’s electromagnetic field spectrum are a set of spectrum peaks known as (Schumann resonances). The distinct spectrum peaks are in the range of 7.83 to 33.8 Hertz with its predominate frequency being 7.83 Hertz. This natural electromagnetic resonance occurs because the space between the surface of the Earth and the conductive ionosphere acts as a closed waveguide. The limited dimensions of the Earth cause this waveguide to act as a resonant cavity for electromagnetic waves in the ELF band and the cavity is naturally excited by electric currents in lightning. The only other natural electromagnetic radiation of any magnitude besides the Sun is in the 1,000 to 30,000 Hz range which is produced during lightning discharges in storms.
It does not require great insight to realize that the vast new man-made spectrum of electromagnetic radiation that has been unleashed on humanity for over 100 years is overwhelming, highly-destructive, and disruptive on a scale unprecedented. (the potential use of electromagnetic radiation to control and influence the psychological behaviour and health of human beings has not been lost on the military-industrial complex either. But that¹s another story).
In summary, the research done in the common 50-60hz range (household current) has demonstrated repeatedly that electromagnetic radiation can cause serious, sometimes fatal disease, major psychological and physical stress, and changes in hormones, body weight, and blood chemistry. EMF-induced decreases in immune competency alone have contributed to a wide range of illnesses and psychological disorders that have resulted in vast suffering, loss of productivity, and shortened lives. The current epidemic of numerous degenerative diseases including cancer and leukaemia and other immune dysfunctions is not purely coincidental and often relates directly to the catastrophic effects of uncontrolled electromagnetic radiation in our ever-declining environment.

I have written a personal EHS case study which can be found on the internet that explains what EHS is, the problems with science today with the use of the provocation test to verify sensitivity.
Queensland has seen a significant improvement to my health but I suspect I have been irreversibly over sensitized to Radio frequencies. I am affected by Mobile phone towers when driving to different locations and other wireless devices in crowded places such as shopping centers. I do find I recover quicker though that when I was in Melbourne.

It can’t be easy when forced out of your home state for health reasons but we truly are being ‘ripped off’ by the utilites(water inc.), government and traffic camera office to name but a few, so good luck to those like us who wish to escape the ridiculous police state Victoria has become.

The number of people here in Victoria who are being made so sick from these far from Smart Meters in growing steadily. How dare these ” Smart Alec C.E.O’s” of the five foreign owned Electric Power Companies state that.”It is all in each suffers’ heads or minds.” It is a disgraceful and unhumanitarian statement to make of these long suffering victims.
I have found out that even the E.S.V which is the Electrical Safety Victoria people are intransigent or, so “Stick In The Mud,” and have seen a number of these victims and still chose to show a truly heartless attitude in refusing to allow these long-suffering people to have these Microwave Smart Meters removed and the Safe and Passive Analog Electric Meters returned to any of these victims. Although these victims have Medical Doctors Letter to prove that they are suffering from Microwave Poisoning, these powers that be continue to force these accursed Microwave and far from Smart Meters on their victims and don’t take a blind bit of notice of these Lawful Medical Certificates. Such an unsympathetic and intransigent attitude which is equally displayed by the C.E.O’s of the five foreign owned electric power companies and the various Victorian Ministers for Energy and Resources is a total disgrace which is still ongoing.
The C.E.O a Mr Mark Feather of the Victorian Department of Primary Industry also shows the same heartless attitude towards these victims. I have on several occasions spoken to Mr Mark Feather over the telephone and explained to him that we the citizens of Victoria live in what is supposed to be a Democracy and at no time will I allow a Type 2B Carcinogen Causing Microwave Smart Meter on my property. I also told him over the ‘phone and a few days later in a polite and strongly written personal written letter to him, which I sent by Registered Post that I would use my very powerful Queens Councillor Lawyer/s and drag him Mr Mark Feather through the Courts if he ever tried to bully me again to take a now proving to be DEADLY Type 2B Carcinogen Causing Microwave Smart Meter.

Many thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated.
I am also sensitive to EMF from smart meters. They upset my balance and make sleeping difficult.
I installed a home-made faraday cage over the smart meter, which cost about $15 to make. The cage needs to be grounded (unlike standard faraday cages which work without being grounded).
Metal fly wire box is made to enclose the smart meter (if does not have to encase it on all sides as the house gets in the way of doing this). Tie wire is tethered to the cage and pinned to the earth with a tent peg. The Faraday cage is easy to lift off the meter so it can be read, if need be.
When I lived in town, I also had overlapping WiFi from neighbour’s houses on both sides (narrow house block), so the smart meter made things even worse than it was without it being there.
The Farday cage has made a huge difference to being able to live comfortably with a smart meter on the house, and as I am a renter, there is no problem with taking the Faraday cage from house to house when I have to move. Anyone can easily make this Farday cage.

You can go to You-Tube and look up Smart Meters and Faraday cages. This will give you some protection from Microwaves using the Faraday Cage. This cage is simply an aluminium fly wire box or better still a copper fly-wire box which has the M/Wave Smart Meter in it. Close up all five surfaces of the cage when the Microwave Smart Meter has been installed. If the Smart Meter is in your Electric meter box you need to encase this meter on five sides as stated above, these being the front of the meter and its four (4) sides = top and bottom and left and right sides.
Then you need to put a decent sized, as they say, about four foot by four foot piece of aluminium or copper fly-wire on the wall of the room directly behind the Smart Meter and an earthing lead to the fly-wire. Run an insulated copper wire down the wall and through the floor and onto a metal stake under the house if your house sits on stumps. If you have a wooden floor in a brick veneer home you still need to run that lead down to a metal stake in the ground. This will according to the experts get rid of a good deal of the build up of the charge coming from the Smart Meter.

It appears Faraday cage doesn’t totally block out the EMF signal, but it does dampen it somewhat. I have since had to move house and now there are 2 SMART meters on the wall and even with a home made (earthed) Faraday cage on the meter box, the EMF is still quite strong. Would be worse without the Faraday cage.
So. now I am having to afford the flyscreen (& a frame) to make Faraday cage to fit around my bed. I really do not want to sleep on a mat on the floor in a tube of flyscreen mesh.

Hi – I and several others have looked into this but, basically, there is no class action as the lawyers approached are not willing to undertake one as the scientific information is too limited and the “damage” to health has not been severe enough. Sadly, this indicates one of two scenarios need to eventuate before the lawyers change their minds –
(a) the scientific evidence needs to improve which will be slow to happen; and or
(b) several people need to die or become severely incapacitated AND the connection can be scientifically proven.
Proving the scientific link is very difficult and expensive but not impossible.
Money rules everything and the lawyers will not run a CA unless they think they have a good chance to get the money/win.

Some lawyers might want to help us, in a Court Case but where are they? If you want to go to Court, good luck as I have found out that in the High Court it could cost one as much as $4000 Dollars a day and possibly as much as $8000 Dollars a day depending on what the lawyer would price his time at. You don’t have to go to court or engage a solicitor. We just have to learn how to play their games. It has been pointed out many times on this forum that the courts are there playground and not ours. We don’t need money Richard, although it would help. We need to do our own research and we have. How much information has been put on this website from every day people, that are probably not lawyers.
A lot of doctor’s don’t have the expertise to diagnose hypersensitivity. You need proof, their lawyers will say, it is in your head or you are lying. Something else caused your problems. Eventually the truth will come out.
It is hard to take on a big company. You have to take on individuals. Like the smart meter installer and the customer service person. You have to start somewhere and smart meter installers seem to think that because they are only following orders, they are not responsible and cannot be held liable. This of course is not true as they are responsible for their own actions. The customer service person that perhaps gives out the wrong information is also responsible. They also have this delusion that their mother company will protect them. Basically anyone connected with the smart meter roll out is responsible and they need to realize this. We can point this out to them.

Once again I have received a letter from Powercor stating they are going to install a smart meter and I am to provide access to the “technician.” Once again, I have replied to Powercor stating I refuse to have the meter installed. I have put another sign on my locked gate stating that if the “technician” breaks in, it will be treated as a criminal offence. And I am quite prepared to use physical force if necessary – and I’m 77!

There is no law, contract, agreement, etc that says you have to provide access for ‘them’ to install a smart meter. Here is the act to which ‘they’ are referring:

(1) For the purposes of this Act, an electricity corporation, subject to this

supply electricity, water, brown coal or products of brown coal over,
or under, any land and may enter on any land upon either side of such
equipment and fell or remove any tree or part of a tree or any
obstruction which in the opinion of the electricity corporation it is

Smart meters do not receive, store, transmit or supply electricity – they only record usage.

WE have no rights, as our complaints are either ignored, or else we are fobbed off as either idiots or imbeciles, (maybe both). I know exactly where these dear people are coming from, as my wife suffers from extreme electromagnetic sensitivity. The point these so-called ‘experts’ seem to miss is that we are ALL affected by exposure to this bombardment of man-made radiation, though only a small percentage suffer obvious physical symptoms. Anyone who doubts this should do some before- and- after tests using live blood analysis, and if they are still not convinced, stick their head in a microwave oven for a while because, after all, this form of radiation is safe!!!!
Unfortunately we,( unknowingly at the time),bought our house with a smart meter already installed, and my wife’s symptoms, (similar to those previously described), started shortly after moving in. With a background in electronics, I purchased a suitable meter to measure the intensity of the radiation, and work out where the ‘hot spots’ were, and to also be able to measure the effectiveness of any counter-measures taken. I shielded both sides of the smart meter, only to find that the house wiring continued to act as an antenna, (inductive/capacitive pickup?), which made the effort of shielding of only some benefit. After repeatedly complaining to the power authorities, they reduced the output of the smartmeter, only to increase it again later, as presumably at lower output, it stopped communicating with their base site.
We are now selling our house, but we have found a few things that others who have similar problems may find helpful:
Cover a peaked hat with alfoil, (foreign legion style),and wear it during the day. It helps with the headaches.
Purchase a Stetzerizer outfit for all the power outlets to reduce the dirty electricity effects. This also improved things slightly.
Sleep with an ‘earthing’ band attached to allow inflamation to settle down overnight. This is of considerable benefit!
At the outset, consider purchasing a triaxial-head rf/emf meter to allow you to diagnose more accurately where NOT to be inside the house.

As power is a necessity of modern life, metering power should have been left analogue with no RF emissions. One of the women minions threatened to cut off my electricity unless I agreed to accept a Microwave Smart Meter. She got me so angry that I told her over the telephone that I’d drag her through the Courts. Wow ! did I get a reaction from that. A loud but somewhat strangled shriek arose from her, followed by loud sobbing. A few seconds later her boss took the telephone off this rude and bullying minion and tried to calm me down, which was very difficult then as my dander was fairly up. This minion was told that if she ever spoke to me or any client like that again she’d be immediately sacked. That made me feel a lot better that her boss had pulled this cruel and stupid minion into line. So you see sometimes even losing your temper can win Brownie Points for one, but don’t count on it.

By the time people are actually dying from these devices en mass I doubt the court system of justice and compensation will be available to those affected. It’s barely available to us now anymore. When justice, common sense, and peaceful resolution are made impossible the alternative consequences are inevitable. There is a very ugly time ahead of us when all of this unravels in time. It is going to be a monumentally huge event in human history. Take some comfort in knowing that those responsible are bringing a plague upon their own houses and family members as well, and there will be no compassion or sympathy for those involved who have peddled in misery and sickness for profit at the dire expense of others. I doubt that’s more than just hearsay. All the ones I’ve encountered and chased away have not been that intelligent to waste my breath on to any length to add to what has been told to them undoubtedly many times before. Just as that arrogant minister proclaimed on TV that he had one fitted to his house and that they were safe, so too will the installers have trouble in accepting that they have been used. They don’t get it, don’t want to get it, and never will. Which is kind of the point if you’re going to use people to do your dirty work. John.M, a couple of years ago my daughter was called into the assistant Principal’s office and had her skirt measured. I was then informed that her skirt was too short and I would have to purchase another one. I arranged a meeting with those in authority, but before I went into the meeting I did a quick survey of the students, and found out that most of the students did not even have the proper school uniform on.
In the course of the meeting I brought up the fact that a large number of students had shorter skirts and dresses than my daughter and also the fact that a lot of the students did not have the proper uniform on. As soon as I brought up these facts, the mood in the room changed. The assistant Principal started biting her nails and the Principal did not know what to say to me, as I pointed out that my daughter had been singled out for some reason.
I informed those in authority that my daughter’s skirt was not too short and I would not purchase another one. They did not like this, but there was nothing they could do about it. My daughter’s skirt stayed the same length and they never bothered her again.
This was a public school and I certainly was not going to have any one dictate to me what length my daughters skirt should be.
My children were taught at an early age to question authority, unfortunately this does not always make them popular.

I asked the Chief Health Officer, Dr Rosemary Lester for information in regards to my enlarged thyroid. Her reply was, it is not possible for us to provide definitive advice as to any possible effect of the smart meter upon your thyroid. The letter than went on to say that the department does not investigate alleged cases of hypersensitivity , I did not say i was hypersensitive, i merely stated my symptoms.

Even low-level radiation may have an effect on the thyroid.Studies in rats have found that exposure to both 50Hz ( electrical system) and 900 mHz (cell phones) electromagnetic radiation decreases the production of thyroid hormone, leading to symptoms of hypothyroidism.

I just wish I had known about this before installation. Because my daughter is on life support they needed to make a special appointment, which I agreed to. I well remember when the adverts on TV and even the radio took up very little time, about ten to twenty seconds at most in any hour of radio and or TV viewing time. Now its maddening and there is far more advertising than TV programs. That’s why I avoid the Commercial T.V Channels like 7 or 10 or 11 or 0/28 as it was then called like the plague. I believe it’s even worse in America, no wonder there seems to be such apathy in America amongst so many young people, very sad indeed and of course many are turning into Couch Potatoes as well watching such a lot of sport and other Brain Dead Programs.

Hi Gerri, if anyone understands what your going through it would be me.I was one of the very first people in Victoria to complain about my health being affected by smart meters. I was one of the first people to go on today tonight and after I went on to explain how sick I became from a smart meter. Many more went on to complain. Sadly explaining your issues to your electricity provider is a waste of time. You could be dying and they wouldn’t care. I have been there and for the last two years I have been in constant contact with citipower but have finally given up as my health issues due to my neighbors smart meter is non existent to them and I AM just a crazy person ( to them) My health issues due to the smart meters has caused me to have severe depression and anxiety but still citipower would not remove this one meter which has caused me so much grief. Anyhow try contacting yshield as he lives local to you. I used him several times. In my previous home I shielded the wall directly behind the meter and this worked and it stopped the RF pulses from entering my bedroom and my health was back to being normal. It takes several, serveral Coates though to make the paint affective. The. Paint description says only 2 Coates is required, but in my experience 2 Coates has never stopped a smart meter pulse. You could also look at special shielding curtains as well as I now sleep under one permanently ( they do work ) However in my new home , the paint has not been able to stop my neighbors meter and I shielded with 13 Coates of paint in total. Although it hasnt stopped the RF ‘s completely it has slowed it down. Still I no longer can sit in this room or use it. Although, I think the reason why the paint did not work in this instance is because my neighbours smart meter is attached to solar pannels. I believe this particular meter behaves differently to the other smart meters. Shielding is worth a try. U can keep the cost down by painting the wall your self. Another alternative is having the meter removed off your home and placed away from your home. I know someone that has done this. Unfortunately for me I can’t do this because my meter isn’t the problem. If I ever move houses again I would definitely be moving the meter off the home and putting it on the fence somewhere as long as it is not attached. Although an expensive option it’s worth it. Hi, I am really sorry to hear what you and many others have been going through. None of the Current Affair programmes will touch these stories any more. United Energy do not care that my daughter is dying, her original condition made worse the day after the installation and even though they have a duty of care, have no empathy and are adamant that the condition is psychosomatic. We have looked into the solutions you have suggested. At the moment we have cut her underfloor heating and paid for the removal of one smart meter. The next step is relocating the second meter as far away from her house as possible. This is going to cost around $3000. Meanwhile we have placed an aluminum cover over the Smart Meter and covered the inside wall with a lead sheet, and earthed it, which has helped a bit. She can still not return to her bedroom.

Removing the meter off the house and moving it as faraway as possible should fix the problems your daughter is having with the smart meter. I wish I could do the same with my neighbors meter. Your not alone when it comes to the power company’s not doing a damn thing about trying to help those whom have been severely affected by their evil devices.

This installation was so recent and I could have stopped it.
I’m sure that some in the media are interested and have a conscience, but like the employees of United Energy they are afraid for their jobs and “just following orders” I have heard this before somewhere. Every minute my daughter remains in her house her condition deteriorates. We can’t move her. I am hoping the work to relocate the SM will start next week. We are now testing the radiation levels which are proving significantly higher than recommended and reporting back to a government scientist who appears to be on board with this.

The thousands of us still refusing to succumb to the pressure to have a smart meter, have no intentions of giving in no matter what blackmail, “marketing”, threats and other you use, so save your money and your time and move on to removing the smart meters from homes of those suffering, and give them their lives back at least in their own homes. They are having enough trouble living in this “wireless” world, so show us you have a heart!!
Great comments. Problem is, we are all affected whether we choose to have them or not. My neighbours all have smart meters installed now, the levels of radiation are undeniably high although many people just ignore what is painfully obvious somehow. It is not happening to THEM, so why worry? But it is! This is what makes me sick about society now. I have ‘friends’ who think this way.
They can’t afford to even have one person prove that they are sick. The lawsuits would be huge and their would be mass hysteria. But they can’t also continue denying that people are sick, because they would have more than lawsuits to worry about. What if someone dies from a smart meter radiation? That in itself is a serious crime. That is why they don’t answer your questions or they refer you to some other department.
THEY ARE SCARED THE TRUTH IS COMING OUT AND THEY KNOW IT.

Dying has already happened with the cases of two children in a school in Canada with wifi in the class room….Have you seen the talk by the Canadian who presented his case against wifi to the Dept of Health? I could find the link if you cant find the u tube of this…
My friends wife in Pascoe Vale was last year found in her bed deceased. They were unable to ascertain a cause of death. This was a perfectly healthy woman who had even gone to the gym the night before. What I have subsequently discovered is that this woman slept in a room where her bedhead was right up against the wall which had the meter box directly behind it. Inside the meter box were two of Jemena’s i-Credit 500 smart meter devices sitting side by side pulsing electromagnetic radiation. This woman was sleeping every night with her head literally inches away from these two devices. My friend is still mourning the loss of his wife everyday and is at a loss to understand how she is no longer with him. It’s very possible Minnie that what you are suggesting has already happened.
