Scientists and Doctors Demand Moratorium on 5G

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Increased radiation from cell [mobile phone] towers poses potential risks, say scientists from around the world.

(Örebro, Sweden)  Over 180 scientists and doctors from 35 countries sent a declaration to officials of the European Commission today demanding a moratorium on the increase of cell antennas for planned 5G expansion. Concerns over health effects from higher radiation exposure include potential neurological impacts, infertility, and cancer.

“The wireless industry is trying to deploy technology that may have some very real unintended harmful consequences,” explains one of the organizers of the letter, Lennart Hardell, MD, PhDAssociate Professor, Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Örebro University, Örebro, Sweden. “Scientific studies from years ago along with many new studies are consistently identifying harmful human health impacts when wireless products are tested properly using conditions that reflect actual exposures. With hazards at those exposures, we are very concerned that the added exposure to 5G radiation could result in tragic, irreversible harm.”

5G expansion, which is designed to carry higher loads of data more rapidly through wireless transmission, will require the construction of cell towers every 10-20 houses in urban areas. [SSMA emphasis]

In their letter to the European Commission, the scientists write:

“We, the undersigned, more than 180 scientists and doctors from 35 nations, recommend a moratorium on the roll-out of the fifth generation, 5G, for telecommunication until potential hazards for human health and the environment have been fully investigated by scientists independent from industry.”

University of California, Berkeley public health researcher Joel Moskowitz, PhD, explains:

“Peer-reviewed research has documented industry influence on studies of the health impacts of wireless radiation. We are insisting on a moratorium on 5G until non-industry research can be conducted to ensure the safety of the public.”

Moskowitz is one of the advisors to an earlier effort, the International EMF Scientist Appeal, a petition submitted to the United Nations and World Health Organization in 2015.  The Appeal has now been signed by more than 230 scientists from 41 nations—all have published peer-reviewed research on the biologic or health effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF).

Since the Appeal was published, the world’s largest $25 million study, conducted by the National Toxicology Program in the US, shows statistically significant increases in the incidence of brain and heart cancer in animals exposed to cellphone radiation at levels below international guidelines. This supports human studies on cellphone radiation and brain tumour risk, as demonstrated in many peer-reviewed scientific studies.

The Appeal and this week’s declaration identify health concerns from exposure to radiofrequency radiation including …

“ … increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.”

Some Doctor’s are aware of EHS, but to be fair can’t do much about it.What can they do? Where do they send you for a diagnosis? This is the Victorian Department of Health’s responsibility. They can’t run the risk of misdiagnosing you. They can then be held liable. Doctor’s are people just like us, you have your good and bad Doctor’s.

I don’t live close to a tower that I know of but have mnd which they say comes from over exposure to electromagnetic radiation. Not the way to die I would have chosen.

I wish more doctors would speak out. I believe a very large number of doctors have recently signed the Freiburg Appeal in Germany. Perhaps Australian doctors may be encouraged by this example to work together and organise a petition which highlights health concerns about wireless technology. If they spoke out in one voice then they could not be ignored. It is a shame that so many doctors are not aware of the biggest health issue right now and many wouldn’t even know that wireless devices used microwaves – there is no other word for it other than ignorance. The medical community does have the power to stop this crime being perpetrated against the community but are they conscious enough to use it or will they allow the public to continue to be harmed?

The sad things is that doctors have been kept in the dark for decades about things like EHS and similar forms of radiation sicknesses (including from radar and radio waves). Most doctors these days just want to do their jobs, earn a living and retire when they can. In the olden days, many doctors (not all, mind you) had genuine concerns regarding their patients and would spend time with them to help as much as they could. Nowadays, with the rise of disease and unhealthiness, mainly due to the consequences the actions from industry and Capitalism, patients are treated almost like parts on a conveyor belt, with a limited amount of time to be dealt with.
There are actually great doctors out there who either know of the issue or are open to the facts. But there is always a fear to support something that may end up with them losing their livelihoods, jobs, reputations, etc… So, it’s not as easy as it may sound to support something so controversial despite the overwhelming facts that say ‘Hey, this is definitely 100% a danger to us all’.

Doctors suffer from a rush, rush mentality – no time to stop and think if the treatments are the right ones or to reflect on what is going on around them. Reflection is essential for understanding anything on a deeper level but if you have no time you can’t reflect. In my opinion most of the illness we see today is coming from diet and environmental factors such as microwaves and many of the treatments are just plain wrong. For instance MS is now being treated with chemotherapy and yet there is a doctor who recovered from MS by changing to a diet very high in green vegetables.
People with chemical sensitivity and electrosensitivity need to avoid microwaves and change to an ALKALISING diet because acidity, microwaves and the chemicals in plastic cause fungus to grow in the body. Green vegetables are alkalising. These things cause acidity in the body: sugar, carbohydrates, alcohol and soft drinks. In the modern world people are exposed to so many factors that cause fungus to grow that it creates the perfect storm.

Maybe we ought to be grateful that EHS is not recognised well by mainstream medicine. If recognition would result in EHS being treated with chemotherapy, then no thank you. 🙂

          • Elena says:

Sweden recognizes EHS as a “functional impairment”, or disability, you don’t treat any other disability with chemotherapy. If you are blind or deaf you don’t get treated with chemotherapy.
