Electromagnetic hypersensitivity: Fact or fiction?

As the prevalence of wireless telecommunication escalates throughout the world, health professionals are faced with the challenge of patients who report symptoms they claim are connected with exposure to some frequencies of electromagnetic radiation (EMR). Some scientists and clinicians acknowledge the phenomenon of hypersensitivity to EMR resulting from common exposures such as wireless systems and electrical devices in the home or workplace; others suggest that electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) is psychosomatic or fictitious. Various organizations including the World Health Organization as well as some nation states are carefully exploring this clinical phenomenon in order to better explain the rising prevalence of non-specific, multi-system, often debilitating symptoms associated with non-ionizing EMR exposure. As well as an assortment of physiological complaints, patients diagnosed with EHS also report profound social and personal challenges, impairing their ability to function normally in society. This paper offers a review of the sparse literature on this perplexing condition and a discussion of the controversy surrounding the legitimacy of the EHS diagnosis. Recommendations are provided to assist health professionals in caring for individuals complaining of EHS.  Stephen J. Genuis & Christopher T. Lipp

I doubt if Minister O’Brien would bother reading this Report. I doubt if he can read at all, otherwise he would have stopped the roll-out of Smart Meters 2 years ago. Surely he must check this Website and see all the work and research Stop Smart Meters Australia have done. He doesn’t deserve to be a Politician and should be sacked. None of us will ever give in and have a SMART METER installed. We are a group of people who want to protect our Homes, Families and Pets and he can no longer think we are a lot of fools. There is no fool like an old fool and he will find that out soon enough. DON’T EVER GIVE IN. …………….. Pam

I agree with your comments! He is not fooling anyone with his misguided and pathetic stance on smart meters. There is definitely an agenda for O’Brien to do such a back-flip on this ridiculous idea. Remember, not so long ago he was berating Brumby’s plan for the AMI… then suddenly he becomes E&R Minister and it’s all okay??? Loathe Him!!!

  2. John Cornish says:

This is a serious issue which cannot be ignored by governments and power companies.
Failure by the Victorian government to order a stop to the ill advised roll-out of smart meters will place them on the precipice of incompetence and in danger of falling into the abyss of moral

      well said

      • Ms Rebel says:

It is not just the smart meters but also the TOWERS that need to be stopped… these things are transmitting harmful frequencies within a 500m radius. This is what I believe causes the ‘buzzing’ in your ears and headaches to worsen. What will be the outcome for residents living/working in close proximity to these poles?

        • 1vimana1 says:

          Dear Ms Rebel,
You are perfectly correct, it is the whole gamut of Microwave Towers, Smart Meters and dopey Cell or Mobile Phones that are now responsible for all this ongoing and now steadily worsenting Electropollution now endemic over most of Planet Earth.

For those of you still in love with your dopey Mobile phones……do as I did some months ago. Smash your mobile phones and hand them back to Nokia or Telstra or from where you purchased these dopey things. Their constant Microwave Polluting Energy is slowly making you sick, although most of you may not realise it yet. With its constant outpouring of Microwave Energy attacking your very D.N.A. and steadily damaging your body’s nerve and brain cells and body cells as well. Apart from this, when you get rid of your Mobile Phones you’ll save heaps of money.

Thanks to Stop Smart Meters for sharing this report which I have just read. I found it extremely interesting and the very large list of references on page 9 and 10 of the report, refer to so many other reports for further reading. Perhaps we should forward this to Minister O’Brien and EMC Technologies for an opinion!!!! as they judged smartmeters to be safe!!!!! How uninformed we would be without this site. Thank you and keep up the great work.
