ELECTROSENSITIVITY – HAS SOCIETY LOST ITS MORAL COMPASS?

An ignored emerging global health, civic and human rights crisis

The following article raises some fundamental issues about how electrosensitive people are being treated around the world and is likely to become a burgeoning issue for Governments, health officials and the general public.

http://mieuxprevenir.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/the-electrosensitive-when-waves-ravage.html

While a number of countries recognize EHS (Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity) Australian authorities including government ministers, ACMA, ARPANSA and the Chief Health Officer of Victoria are using the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) claim that EHS is not a medical diagnosis as an excuse for inaction. This inaction is further demonstrated by many of the aforementioned parties continued refusal to formally investigate whether smart meters are causing Victorian’s to experience health issues. Instead technical studies are performed using Australia’s inadequate RF standards as a defensive wall to validate their claims of safety and appear to be hoping that if they ignore electrosensitives for long enough, they will simply ‘go away’.

With some scientists such as Örjan Hallberg and Gerd Oberfeld suggesting that up to 50% of the population could have EHS by 2017, this is not an issue that is likely to ever go away especially as wireless devices are become more pervasive in our everyday lives.

EHS prevalenceThose with EHS are finding that our increasingly electrified environment is becoming unbearable. They are being forced out of society as accessibility to public places becomes severely restricted because of health issues resulting from exposure to unwanted and non-consensual RF exposure, particularly to digital wireless transmitters (WiFi, Smart Meters, Smart Phones, Mobile Phone Towers etc.) Affected people are left with no choice but to abandon their homes and seek refuge in safe EMR free zones all around the world known as “white zones”. We even have people in Australia actively seeking to establish white zones as indicated in this linked story. http://electroplague.com/2014/09/21/ehs-refuge-in-australia-people-needed/

Recognition of the dangers of EMR as well as EHS by other countries around the world:

Australians with EHS have no such recognition and support. They are often condemned to suffer alone as relationships breakdown with the impacted individual(s) having no choice but to move from their family homes. If they go public with their condition, they are likely to be ridiculed or disbelieved. In some cases they may be bullied by the medical community into accepting medication, a psychiatric assessment and/or confinement. Many studies have been performed over the last 70+ years in relation to the effects of EMR and yet only environmentally trained doctors appear to be aware of EHS.

Accessibility, a key issue highlighted in the rights of the disabled states that everyone is entitled to have accessibility to their world and to earn a living without obstruction to the normal supports and public services that the community can access. Unfortunately for EHS suffers, accessibility to the following places is seriously compromised:

  • Shopping centres with mobile phone towers installed on the roof, free WiFi installed and emitting throughout the complex and smartphones everywhere operating WiFi, Bluetooth and 4G signals.
  • Hospitals, which should be providing an optimum environment for healing and recovery have a multitude of wireless devices
  • Doctor and Dentist surgeries that have WiFi, Bluetooth headsets etc.
  • Hairdressers, sporting facilities, beaches, public parks that have mobile phone towers situated nearby or offer public WiFi access
  • Schools with industrial strength WiFi which is often tightly integrated into the core network and so cannot be switched off
  • Neighbourhoods – cordless phones , WiFi, smart meters, mobile phone towers etc.
  • Cities – City-wide WiFi, mobile phone towers, non-stop emissions with no escape
  • Work places

For those who are unfortunate enough to be EHS, Australia is not the “lucky country”. Most of the time, they are denied access to adequate and dignified medical care. Many doctors are unaware of the condition as formal training does not cover this area of human health. This lack of awareness can lead to a high chance of misdiagnosis and the prescription of inappropriate medication. Moreover, access to all types of medical treatment is often thwarted due to the high levels of man made radio frequencies present in these environments that are supposedly dedicated to healing. Many hospitals now have masts on top of them which seems to be an outrageous contradiction.

Australian children who are electrosensitive lose their right to be educated in a safe and healthy environment. Virtually ALL Australian primary and secondary schools now have Wi-Fi installed without any due consideration to those parents who don’t want their children irradiated.

The message from industry, government and governmental agencies is clear:

Electrosensitve Australians do not appear to have the same worth as human beings as other Australians. They are acceptable collateral damage in order to support technical innovation and increased profits.

Can we as a society accept the marginalization of 3-5% (and growing) of our population, simply on the basis of a medical impairment? Is this consistent with the values we want to uphold as a community, let alone with our human rights?

SSMA is committed to sending a strong message to people with EHS:

WE VALUE YOU

YOUR LIVES MATTER

YOU DESERVE A BETTER DESTINY

Please view this video testimonial of Australian EHS sufferer Dr Alexander David McDonald:

SSMA will be looking to effect change by improving public awareness and raising this issue directly with the authorities who are empowered to address this serious issue.

Anyone looking for an EHS friendly HOUSESHARE? I have been looking for 15 months now, and I have found a 6 bedroom rental house in Guyra for $380!! Its 40 klm north of Armidale NSW. The house is just 2klm out of town, slightly elevated with lovely rural views and no close neighbours. It will likely be advertised next week, but at present I cant give you pictures. The strongest reading on my Cornet is 6 to 12 uW/m2, facing the tower which is not visible but around 6klm away. On the other side of the house, a sunny north facing porch, the Cornet reading is below .18uW/m2. There is enough room to have a dedicated office/computer room, which is connected to NBN. This can be used one at a time using an ethernet cable. For more details, see my ad on Gumtree. I urgently wish to secure this house, (its 7/4/17 today) but as a pensioner the max rent I can afford is $200 pw. Please ring me asap on 02 6688 6356 if interested, and I ask the moderator not to remove this phone number. Also if the moderator knows a better place for this comment or request to appear, please move it, thank you so much.

I have told the doctors about my symptoms from smart meters, wi-fi routers and towers several times. Although sympathetic, they shrug their shoulders as if to say “I can in no way help you”. It is unbelievable how bad society is becoming with too much complacency and the put up & shut up mentality of the ACMA, ARPANSA, and the absolutely deplorable AMA. We are blanketed in RF radiation wherever we go and it is not acceptable just because it is invisible! More people, especially those with children must speak out if we are going to see any change for the better. At the end of the day, it is our children who will be the most affected, even if they are not as yet showing any symptoms. Look at the asbestos issues being talked about right now….it is too late for those people.

    • Minnie says:

They can’t help you because they don’t know how to. They have no knowledge in this area so pick anything they can think of and hope it is correct. I have spoken to many people that have gone to the Doctor’s for different reasons and they just dismiss them.
Some Doctor’s are just plain arrogant and will not listen no matter what you say. Some Doctor’s can’t stand the thought of the patient knowing more than them.
As for ARPANSA and the rest of them, if Rf radiation comes under their scope of office they have to act whether they like it or not. This just needs to be pointed out to them. Look up their responsibilities and then write to them, demanding that they take action. Of course they will most likely refer you to another useless department, but you keep on doing this until they start doing what they are paid for.

Bayer knew of the side effects it’s money spinning drug could and would cause and chose to flood the market with this flawed drug that’s been responsible for many deaths.

The Victorian Government and the electricty companies have acted in a an even more negligent manner than Bayer.

I received a letter from a woman in Canada that was diagnosed as having EHS. She told me that
There are no tests for EHS. Everything else has to be ruled out as the cause. She went on to say,
I went to the Environmental Health Clinic at the New Womens’ College Hospital in Toronto for diagnosis. They deal with these kinds of things and will look at your complete medical history, environment, and current symptoms to determine if you have EHS. They will then advise your doctor on the best course of treatment which is avoidance.
Ask your doctor if there is an environmental health hospital or clinic you can go to near you. Your doctor can diagnose you but it would be better coming from an Environmental Health doctor.
Furthermore in another letter from this lady she informed me that,
Also the Canadian Human Rights Commission recognizes EHS. http://www.weepinitiative.org/Canadian%20Human%20Rights.html Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that it is fully recognized in Canada yet.

@ Catherine, I live in SE QLD and I have met numbers of ES sufferers who have moved to Qld to get away from Victoria’s ‘smart’ meters. They have come over the last few years. They estimate that they know over 200 people who have done so. Unfortunately Qld is now rolling out smart meters which they call ‘advance meters’. However they are not mandatory in Qld and we may escape them if enough people oppose a change over in their meters around them. I live in a community set up where the Body Corp that runs it has voted against accepting ‘smart’ meters into this area. Once possibility, but I know it is a big move…

    • Minnie says:

I hope the people of Queensland will learn from what happened in Victoria and put a stop to smart devices as they are not meters. Not everyone can move and we should not have,to it is our country and we have a right to live wherever we want.
We will not become refugees in our own country. We will not be treated as second class citizens..
Victoria’s smart meter rollout is a failure and they know it as well. Thanks to Victorians the rest of the country has been forewarned and hopefully they will not be able to cause any more damage to people in other states.

    • Anonymous says:

hi. do you know of any support groups in QLD for EMF sufferers

      • hypersolved says:

        Dear Anonymous
I am new to this forum. I am not aware of a support group in Queensland, but I do have the 3 EMF meters you need to measure the different problems which you are welcome to borrow for free. I imported them from the USA when I was hypersensitive 5 years ago. You can beat this – but you have to be extremely disciplined in problem identification and resolution – and have an excellent doctor who understands the challenge. Life is now pretty normal again for me.

        • Lisa says:

Hello, I live in SE Qld and have been EMS for 6 months. Can you please advise what doctor you used in Brisbane or nearby? I am having trouble finding one who has knowledge of this. thank you, Lisa

    • Nik says:

What is the community you live in? Is it largely wifi free?

    • Alamain says:

Here we go. Gas smart meters being rolled out in the USA (California).
And they are known as “Advanced Meters”.

I think Gas Meters must NOW be locked up regardless of whether there is any present roll out or not and prior to implementation of any such agenda.

Beware because some meter models don’t need to be exchanged but need only have its electro mechanical metrology unit retrofitted with a “smart” unit causing the meter to have converted to a “smart”/”advanced” meter unit. One such meter that can be easily retrofitted to become a smart meter is the now very commonly encountered model 750 meter being used by SP Ausnet/Ausnet Services which I think could be a Landis and Gyr manufactured product.

Just lock up and don’t take any chances.

    • Alamain says:

Just to confirm the link re Advanced Meters for GAS being rolled out in California USA
      https://www.socalgas.com/save-money-and-energy/advanced-meter/prepare-for-installation

      • James Bennett says:

This is the unit you need to look out for, the Landis and Gyr Model 750 which SP Ausnet have already pushed onto many of us by stealth.

        Click to access LG_APAC_Brochure_Gas_750.pdf

“Every Model 750 gas meter is supplied pulse ready so that the meter can be
retrofitted with a pulse output module for advanced metering applications
without the need to replace the meter index.”

If you have one of these units installed on your premises, you are already halfway to having a gas smart meter on your premises.

Please sign an AVAZZ petition to help Professor Johansson from the Karlinska Institute in Sweden, they are trying to remove him from his post. His work on EMR is brilliant and we cannot afford to loose him from informing the world of the dangers of this radiation.

  7. Minnie says:

I am sure by now most of us have written to The Department of Health and have probably received a letter stating that RF does not fall with their scope of office. RF radiation does fall with in their scope of office.
ACCORDING TO THE VICTORIAN PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLBEING ACT 2008,
THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
    6 Precautionary principle
If a public health risk poses a serious threat, lack
of full scientific certainty should not be used as a
reason for postponing measures to prevent or
    control the public health risk.
    NO PRECAUTIONS, NO PROTECTION

7 Principle of primacy of prevention
    (1) The prevention of disease, illness, injury,
disability or premature death is preferable to
    remedial measures.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN A CURE

    8 Principle of accountability
    (1) Persons who are engaged in the administration of
this Act should as far as is practicable ensure that
    decisions are transparent, systematic and
    appropriate.

    (2) Members of the public should therefore be
    given—
    (a) access to reliable information in appropriate
forms to facilitate a good understanding of
    public health issues;
SO NEXT TIME ANYONE WRITES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH YOU MIGHT WANT TO POINT OUT THAT SMART METER RADIATION DOES FALL WITHIN THEIR SCOPE OF OFFICE.
They don’t know what to do with people that are sensitive to radiation.

  8. Excellent post. Discrimination on the basis of a disability or impairment is unlawful. EHS sufferers need to make formal complaints against industry and government perpetrators – with our State and Federal Human Rights Commissions.

  9. Minnie says:

I was informed that the WHO has no confirmed cases of EHS. I wanted to know why that was I wrote to the Environment, Nature and Energy Department which is in Brussels Belgium. This is what I was told by Dienst Milieu & Gezondheid.
EHS is not recognized as a disorder because no scientific research can prove causation between symptoms and exposure to RF radiation. Scientific research (with electro-sensitive subjects) cannot prove that individuals can perceive or feel the radiation from wireless devices. In these studies, people are alternately exposed and not be exposed to radiation.

THIS IS NOT ENTIRELY CORRECT AS I WAS SENT NUMEROUS STUDIES ON EHS AND FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND NO TEST ACTUALLY EXISTS WHICH CAN PROVE OR DISPROVE THAT RADIATION IS THE PROBLEM. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT DOES NOT EXIST. WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT THEY DON’T HAVE AN ACCURATE TEST, AS SOME SYMPTOMS SHOW UP HOURS AND HOURS LATER.

The letter went on to say, The WHO states, “EHS is characterized by a variety of non-specific symptoms that differ from individual to individual. The symptoms are certainly real and can vary widely in their severity. Whatever its cause, EHS can be a disabling problem for the affected individual. EHS has no clear diagnostic criteria and there is no scientific basis to link EHS symptoms to EMF exposure. Further, EHS is not a medical diagnosis, nor is it clear that it represents a single medical problem.

EHS HAS NO CLEAR DIAGNOSTIC TEST SO THAT IS WHY WE HAVE NO CONFIRMED CASES ARPANSA.

Furthermore i received a letter stating that,The World Health Organization was so concerned about people suffering from EHS that they held an international conference on the subject about 10 years ago – http://www.who.int/peh-emf/publications/reports/EHS_Proceedings_June2006.pdf , http://www.who.int/peh-emf/meetings/hypersensitivity_prague2004/en/ .
Most of the tests show women are more affected then men, but women are more likely to report symptoms. The studies are also old and therefore are less relevant as their would of not been much technology back then.

THAT IS WHY WE HAVE NO CONFIRMED CASES AS IT IS HARD TO DEVELOP A TEST THAT WOULD SUIT EVERYONE. ALSO THE TRUTH CAN’T BE REVEALED AND THAT IS WHY THEY KEEP REFERRING US TO THE LOCAL DOCTOR. THEY ARE WELL AWARE THAT MOST DOCTOR’S DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THEY ALSO WILL NOT LET YOUR DOCTOR DIAGNOSE YOU ANYWAY AS I HAVE ASKED ABOUT THIS. THEY WON’T ANSWER THE QUESTION.

My Doctor told me what the problem was and i sent the information to ARPANSA. I was told that we don’t believe this is correct. But ARPANSA have no medical expertise they are scientists so therefor should keep their beliefs to themselves.

    • Eric says:

Sounds like WHO is having an each way bet.

On one hand WHO state that they know of no confirmed cases of EHS.

On the other hand WHO state that
“EHS is characterized by a variety of non-specific symptoms that differ from individual to individual. The symptoms are certainly real and can vary widely in their severity.”

No confirmed cases but acknowledged in characterization. Good one WHO.

Just because pathetic imperfect man is unable to reproduce the proofs of the phenomena characterizing perfect nature does not mean that nature’s working is not real nor that nature is all powerful.

The great problem of many men is their willful blindness and their numbed senses.

      • Hammer Mann says:

The Microwave Industry needs to be responsible for peoples’ health, but they and our Victorian Liberal Party government and the past Victorian Labor party are I allege showing no duty of care or responsibility for human health or well-being as more and more people here in Victoria and world-wide are suffering increasing microwave illnesses related to this ever growing smog of non-ironizing radiation from these electric Microwave A.M.I so-called Smart Meters, as well as the microwave broadcasting and receiving units atop of high towers dotted all over the countryside and in the city’s of Victoria and other States of Australia and other countries of the world.

If one looks at a map of the number of these microwave towers the greatest numbers of them is concentrated in the cities. Is it any wonder that more and more people are getting so microwave sick? I see a huge World-Wide Class action coming soon to be visited upon not only the microwave industry, but upon those careless and grossly irresponsible governments here in Victorian Australia and world-wide in the near future. This microwave industry is actually dicing with DEATH by playing with humans’ lives and all for money or filthy lucre. Shame on you all who play Russian Roulette with our health and well-being and our lives as well, Shame I Say !

    • Citizen for Democracy says:

There are a number of illnesses that are accepted as ‘real’ and yet there are no specific tests for them – migraines and irritable bowel syndrome for example. They are called ‘diagnoses of exclusion’, because, once tests exclude other causes for the symptoms (brain or bowel cancer in this case), then doctors can confidently diagnose migraine or IBS on history of symptoms alone. Why should it be any different for EHS? Especially since the symptoms described by people are quite typical (sleeping problems, dizziness, brain fog, skin rashes, palpitations, etc.). It is also disturbing to hear of people being accused of having a psychosis. Primary psychoses (not secondary to brain lesions or drugs) typically start at a young age (teens, early twenties), so one would have to worry about the competence of a doctor that wants to diagnose a primary psychosis in a middle aged or elderly person. It wasn’t that long ago that doctors used to preach that smoking was good for your respiratory conditions! Doctors (including those working at the WHO) are just human beings after all and therefore just as likely as everybody else to be corrupt, weak or unprofessional.
It is up to us to speak up and ensure that our EHS brothers and sisters are not treated like second class citizens.

      • Minnie says:

There is no test which is 100% accurate for any illness this is a fact. That is why people are misdiagnosed sometimes. They don’t want to test anyone, even with the tests they have. They can’t take a chance that they will have their first confirmed case.
Most Doctor’s just guess as do the specialists i have seen over the years. In fact the experts i have seen, usually ask me for information instead of providing me with information.
Many years ago i saw a specialist and asked him a question about my health, his reply which he yelled out was,
        I DON’T KNOW I DON’T HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL.
This Doctor was head of his department and he could not answer my questions. So these people that are stating smart meters are safe are basically full of crap. If a Specialist can’t give me any information either can they.

      • Bobgic says:

        Hey,Reality doesn’t lie

Now it is time for the MONIES.
        Never trust an academic.

        • Minnie says:

They do love the money but it is also arrogance. Big ego’s to compensate for something else that is missing in their lives. Some Doctors probably think they are God, and some of them play God.

  10. catherine says:

Great video from Dr Alexander. I too feel so isolated as people can’t seem to understand what it feels like to be a EHS suffer. People think your Looney because it’s not a common illness and no one really knows anything about it unless your a suffer yourself. It is very isolating and stressful to be a EHS suffer. It tears people’s life’s apart. I am currently living in terrible circumstances where both my neighbors smart metres which are now both connected to solar pannels are causing me so much grief that I can’t seem to find a calming spot in my home. I have always had a problem with smart metres from the day they were introduced but the ones connected to solar panels are a bigger problem for me. No amount of shielding seems to stop them and I have spent thousand s of dollars on shielding. Now I am living on anxiety tablets just to live in my home. I truly hate living like this, I just want to feel comfortable in my own home but this just seems impossible to do anymore. So I am thinking of selling and uprooting the family again. But where on earth do you move in Melbourne as smart meters are everywhere. I am afraid I will be leaving one problem and right into a new problem. My life has been ruined by these smart metres. I absolutely hate them and no one seems to understand nor relate unless you feel what I feel….

    • Anonymous says:

      Do you use CFL lights?

    • Access denied says:

Catherine, I know exactly what you’re feeling. My neighbours had the choice. like me of not having the smart meter (because I forewarned them) but they had it installed anyway. They didn’t believe what was said and I felt disappointed in them. Not thinking theirs would in any way affect me, I didn’t give it a second thought until I began getting weird symptoms -: headaches every day on waking, tinnitus, poor sleep and anxiety among other things. My neighbours meter box is only 6 metres from my bedroom and I no longer sleep in there, the lounge room couch is my bed now (it has been 2 long years!!) Suppose I’m used it … my husband isn’t happy but he doesn’t feel the smart meters radiation like me, so continues to sleep in our bedroom…. I believe it is going to harm him eventually but he doesn’t seem to think he has a choice. So, I would love to move but like you, there is little hope in Melbourne or Victoria if you have become EHS – there is no real solution, it seems 😦

      • Allison Brown says:

I am appalled that people are being forced to evacuate their own bedrooms in their own house and forced to sleep on the couch, just to avoid the ill effects of smart meters transmitting radiation into their bedrooms and/or dirty power that smart meters have introduce onto their house wiring.

This Napthine government should be absolutely wiped out of existence at the ballot box for this utter betrayal of their constituency ie. the people of Victoria, by this violation of their human rights on such a grand scale. I hate the five electricity utility distributors with a passion. Damn them and curse them. They all lack even the most minute amount of decency. And A.D.’s case above is just one case, there are many people that have been forced not only to be sleeping on floors and couches in their own homes but who have been forced to actually sell and move from their homes because they have become sick, ill, afflicted in some way through the effect of stinking smart meters. Had there been any decency in this nation, this problem would have already been jumped on and dealt with a long time ago.

What a shame this is to this whole NATION. I’m afraid for the price which I’m sure this Nation will be made to pay for what is not just an uncaring nature towards it’s own people, but a total arrogance towards them to say the very least.
