POLITICIANS just dont get it. People are sick and tired of their dumb decisions. Energy Minister Michael OBrien admits smart meters will cost a massive $2.3 billion, almost triple their original estimate, but says its too late to do anything about it. This latest example of a scandalous lack of foresight and planning by the former Labor government sits alongside the myki public transport ticketing system, which has blown out by hundreds of millions of dollars, and the Wonthaggi desalination plant, which will eventually cost Victorians $23 billion for water they may not need.
