A recent paper contends that there is an urgent need to address electrosmog.
Authors of the paper, Dr Priyanka Bandara and Dr David O. Carpenter, point out that radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation experienced by people using various wireless devices has increased exposure by about 10¹⁸ times above natural background levels around the 1 GHz band. That’s 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more exposure just to these frequencies!
An evaluation of 2266 studies in the Oceania Radiofrequency Scientific Advisory Association’s categorised online database found that most studies demonstrated significant biological or health effects associated with exposure to man-made electromagnetic fields. Evidence also exists that radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation affects flora and fauna.
A coordinated international effort is required to reduce public exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation.
